A Little About The Smiddy Family

I have proudly served in the US Air Force for 20 years and lived all over the world. The family has lived in many countries and traveled to many more. Kim, Chris, and Liz lived in Turkey before we met, and Cody, Kayla and I lived in the Philippines. Together we have lived in Alabama, Texas, Germany, and Hawaii and have traveled to Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, and Poland. I have also traveled to England for 30 days, Italy for 4 months, and Pakistan for 6 months. The kids were 4 and 5 when we were married in 94 and have grown up together. They are all scattered now and I am not sure when we will all get together again. Cody is in the Army, married and has a little girl of his own and is currently deployed to Afghanistan. Liz is in the Air Force married and stationed in Kansas but deployed to Iraq. Kayla graduated High school in Indiana and is joining the Army Reserve. Chris is in Job Corp in Austin Tx and is training to be a Physicians assistant. I retired from the AF in San Antonio and was offered a job as a contractor in the same office. We bought a house in the country about 23 miles from where I work on Lackland AFB. We have 5 acres and a huge garden that has 10 foot high fence to keep the deer out. We have deer in our yard every day and can hear the coyotes howling at night. We plan on becoming gardeners and I want to learn to can stuff like my grandma did. So far we have planted some blackberries, and some vegtables. I have a Harley Electra Glide Classic that I have put 20,000 miles on in 8 months riding between SA and Clyde and soon will put more miles on when Kim and I cruise around and enjoy freedom from the military structure.
